The results of the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) will be available online to sending and receiving schools next week.
This was announced by Minister of Education, Youth and Information, Hon. Ruel Reid today (June 15), at a post-Cabinet press briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister in Kingston. GSAT results were disseminated to the sending schools in hard copy on Tuesday, June 14.
Mr. Reid said the Ministry is looking to enable parents to access the results online next year. This, he said, will help to alleviate the anxiety associated with waiting for the results at the schools.
Minister Reid reported that 81 per cent of students who sat GSAT were placed in a school of their choice. This is an increase of eight per cent over last year.
The results also show an increase in passes in four of the five subject areas.
