Schools Urged to Report Staff Shortage and Other Needs

Posted on 9/22/2016

Minister of Education, Youth and Information, Senator the Hon. Ruel Reid, is appealing to school principals to provide information on staff shortage and other necessities so that they can be speedily addressed.

In an interview with JIS News, Minister Reid said that at all times needs will exist, but that the schools must provide the information to the Ministry so that the issues and concerns can be acted on.

“I have already signaled to my Permanent Secretary and our Chief Education Officer to contact the schools, so that the Ministry can get the information. I appeal again, to principals,” he said.

Senator Reid informed that a reporting mechanism is in place to channel information from the schools to the Ministry, and said he anxiously awaits the reports from the institutions.
