Private Sector Urged to Support School Feeding Programme for PATH Students

Education, Youth and Information Minister, Senator the Hon. Ruel Reid, is urging the private sector to support  expansion of the School Feeding Programme for students under the Programme of Advancement Through Health and Education (PATH).

Senator Reid pointed out that the Government covers the programme for only three days and is only able to allocate $90 per day for each of the more than 200,000 students on PATH.

Voluntary Contributions Being Accommodated Under New Tuition Fee Policy

School administrators have been advised that voluntary contributions from parents and other stakeholders towards their institutions’ development will be accommodated under the Government’s proposed tuition fee policy.

JLS Increasing Awareness of Public Libraries

The Jamaica Library Service (JLS) has established several advocacy committees across the island aimed at creating greater awareness of the value of public libraries. The committees are comprised of key stakeholders in both private and public sector entities, who will serve as advocates for the libraries.
